That's right, first thing I post is an anime thread. Since it seems no forums have them. I personally love One Piece, Naruto, Trinity Blood, and a few others. I personally love Sennin Naruto ( sage form ) and Chopper. :3 So, what're your interests?

Only anime I ever liked was one piece. I loved its humor and storyline.

My favorite Animes in this order:Pokemon,Bleach,Dragonball(NOT Z or GT),Sora no otoshimono and Fulmetal Alchemist.

I watch tons including all of bleach, heavens lost property, darker than black, desert punk, full metal alchemist, fruits basket, soul eater, litlle bit of queens blade (dont think wrongly of me for doing so), all the marvel animes, D gray man, kaze no stigma, gurren laggann, black blood brothers, mushi shi, moribito, speed grapher, ghost hound,short bits of dozens of animes.
And all thats just from netflix (excluding bleach) i have alot more that aren't on netflix also.

Sure there are anime's out there that are perverted but there's plenty of those that aren't

Don't bite my head off, but is there really any difference from anime and other animations, other than style of animation (or drawing, if you say manga and cartoon).
Maybe there is just something in anime that I don't see, the only two anime I watched were Pokémon (first series) and Yugio (not GX), and the only real difference from the cartoons I watched back then was that it was way more detailed, but the 'camera' or 'view point' panned in paused cuts a lot of the time.

There's no huge reason. There's just way, way more anime than there are cartoons, which has lead to a seperate subculture.

First, there's a geographical difference 
And second, Animes are aimed to a much larger audience than cartoons. Cartoons are thought almost only for kids, and so they rarely try to analize deeper subjects or even form an overall plot. While anime create an (often really complex) story by themselves.
Also, yes, animation and details and technical stuff are often much more detailed in anime.
Imagination is the key, the lock, and the door.
