I always have tons of tabs opened for the Starbound Brony clan, being a clan co-leader requires a lot of attention for my clan

My avatar is my OC: Rose Thorn. Drawn by the talented eShredder.

I usually head to a section, "scroll-click" thread links (opens the link in a new tab), browse said thread and close the tab when I'm done. Rinse and repeat.

I don't think I ever exceed 5 tabs when I browse stuff. I've heard that you should avoid opening too many tabs in Chrome. Unlike Internet Explorer (lol) and some other browsers, each tab counts as a new process and will slow your computer down.

With each tab counting as a process if one tab crashes it will not take down the whole browser with it. I have had that many tabs open once and I have not notice any slow down. Well probably that is due to the fact that I have a good cpu and plenty of ram

I've had around 10+ tabs open at the same time in chrome without any noticable slow down. My standard amount of tabs are around 5-6 and it works just fine.
I usually have only one or maybe two tabs open per website. For forums and other sites with a lot of information in different places I use qbicfeet's method of opening in new tabs (except it's ctrl-clicking for me). I don't need to do it on this forum though, camping at the main page is a good way to keep track of most new content.

I personally sometimes have 20+ tabs open, but at that point I usually start closing some.

I use a touchpad so I'm not sure if I can. I'm so used to using ctrl anyways so I'll probably stick to that.
I have a mouse too but I only connect it when I'm doing serious gaming.

Strange. Those times Chrome has crashed on me all tabs went down. But the overall slowdown is pretty noticeable when I have a lot of resource-intensive stuff such as flash games or YouTube videos going on, at least on my laptop. With each tab counting as a process if one tab crashes it will not take down the whole browser with it. I can believe that the whole Chrome browser crash all together more often on a laptop. I have a laptop that I use for college work on my web design degree so I have browsers up a lot and they do crash on occasion, at least now days it real easy to restore your tabs to back where you are at.
Most of the time normally I have one tab crash then I just reload that tab in no time where as IE takes down the whole session of tabs which mean more time to reopen the tabs.

It gets to the point where text no longer displays on the tabs themselves so I get stuck ctrl-tab ing through all of them trying to find the one that I want.
