Hah, I remember this book. I believe it was called "Five Reasons You Should Punch a Dolphin in the Face", or something like that. Edit: Well, never mind that...but the part about running a dolphin over with a jet-ski, I do remember was from that book.

OT, the one that gets me is not when people spell it "definately" instead of "definitely", but when they spell it "defiantly".

Am I the only one with friends who can't seem to tell the difference? Seriously, I've run into this spelling error dozens of times in the past few months.

Nobody cares about apostrophe's anyways.

I used to misspell "definitely", but besides that I'm good with all of these :D.

I totally agree with this. It can be so annoying. The only one I misspell is weird, but I always correct myself.

I'm not bragging, but I rarely make these mistakes. I know how to type correctly, I just mess up alot. <-- See? I'm making an error in typing.
My friends mainly make these mistakes, but I don't mind. You guys probably shouldn't care that much either. My friends are good people, they just frankly don't give a rats ass about typing correctly.

Whenever there's a presentation in my class, everyone except me and my friends make all these ridiculous mistakes that I would expect from a year two student. Sometimes, they don't even capitalize names. I have no idea how the missed all those squiggly red lines under half the PowerPoint.

That's un-true. Most people have all their grammar and spelling correct.

I've seen that happen quite often, especially last year, it's like they didn't even notice any of the auto-correct warnings.

Sorry but no. I don't misspell any of those words often, other than whether/weather which I know the difference BUT I ALWAYS GET THEM THE WRONG WAY AROUND RAGE! (P.S. I do spell around a-round, but a lot is a - lot. Human question mark >?<)

The funny thing is that I practically always misspell misspell, meaning when I'm telling someone off for misspelling a way, I say:

"You've just mispelled a word."
"So did you... can't even spell misspell"
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!"

Ok, statistically, they're probably the minority. But the mistakes they make are still unbelievable for a high school student,

Yeah, most of my friends can't spell or type correctly worth shit. It's rather annoying most of the time. Especially when a girl types things like bcz, when it takes 1 or 2 more seconds to add the couple extra letters.

THANK YOU for making this thread!

I consider my English to be rather good, but of course I mispell a few words, especially in live chats, like in minecraft, for example, because I type too fast to notice my grammar.

Everyone has that friend with terrible grammar. I have a friend that often makes the plural of words with (word)'s.

And, Of Course, There Are Those People Who Go That Extra Mile To Type Every Word With A Capital Letter
(for the record, I‛m not referring to anyone in specific here)

And then, there are people like me, who hit the Enter key twice to change the line :P

I don't think I've had much trouble with spelling myself, and I've never mixed up homophones such as their/there/they're. Sentence structure, on the other hand, I've had a harder time with, but I usually get it somewhat right.

Ive nevr undrstood ppl who typ lyk dis eithr. It just makes them look ridiculously stupid. Is it really that much trouble spelling out an entire word?

Half a second to add more letters to the word decreases reading time for the other party, tenfold. Especially when there is more than just one person reading. Even ingame, I try me hardest to type with some grammar, only shortening 'u' and 'r' :).
