My ipod is stuck on a (non-responsive) password screen with a loading reticle in the centre. Is there a way to fix this?

Is this a jailbroken Ipod? Look up how to put in DFU mode. That should fix it.

Hold lock for 5 seconds then put your other finger on home to where your holding home and lock at the same time for 10 seconds then take your finger off lock and hold home only for 7 seconds, this will put it in dfu mode and then connect it to ituunes via PC and restore it

go to app store then click the updates tab when in it at the top there will be a bar that says purchased click it then anyapp you've ever had is there
step twelve is always optional!
