About Me
Well, where to start. You all probably don't know much about my IRL life, so I'll talk about my hobbies and what I do.
First off, I played baseball since I was a little kid until 8th grade, and then I got into tennis. I was never the star in baseball, although I did hit a game winning grand slam in the 9th inning in one of our games, I'm getting quite good at tennis. My school has won sectionals for the past 4-5 years in a row, and there's no reason we shouldn't this year. I'm the youngest kid on the top 9 who actually go to the matches, and I've only been playing for a year
.
I don't game as much recently because there are no good games to play, but I've played a ton of COD4 promod and mw2. I have a few other CODs, but I don't play them much. Terraria and Minecraft eventually got boring, and NBA 2K11 is fun to play every once in a while. I have a nice logitech G9X mouse which is great for gaming though, and a decent rig and keyboard.
I've been speedsolving Rubik's Cubes for probably the past 2 years, and I average about 17 seconds right now. I go to competitions somewhat frequently, including 2 national competitions. It's a ton of fun, you all should try it
.
Piano has basically been in my blood. I started when I was 4, which means I've been playing for 11 years. Quite often the practicing sucks, but in the end the music sounds so great that it keeps me motivated. I'm a fairly accomplished pianist, in this one music competition I received the highest possible score 6 or 7 years in a row. I also just started playing string bass 3 years ago, and I'm picking it up very quickly due to my musical talent from piano.
Math is one of my many hobbies which I find to be so much fun. Two of my friends and I try to solve math problems together and have races against each other. We tried to prove the Riemann hypothesis, but we got stuck at trying to figure out what the hell it was. In school, I'm 2 years ahead in math, and I'm the only kid in the history of my private college prep school to do so. I manage to average around 93 as well.
I love to write, which is sort of obvious because I'm on the news team (longest lasting member of the news team
). I took the SATs in 7th grade to apply for this Talented Youth thing at Johns Hopkins University (obviously I made it
), and got an 8/8 on the essay portion. In 7th grade. I was also a finalist in an essay contest run by a AAA baseball team (I think it was when I was 11-12). I also have a lot of fun with it. I go to a private catholic school, so we have religion class. Every once in a while, our teacher assigns us to write a story with some theme, like forgiveness or optimism vs. pessimism. My two friends and I that I mentioned in the other paragraph try to go totally overkill on it, even though religion is the biggest joke of a class. I've written a trilogy of short stories, which are actually shockingly good. I might put them up on here somewhere eventually
.
I'd like to go to MIT, but I don't study or try very hard in school, so even though I'm extremely smart and could probably be the Valedictorian of my class if I wanted to, I barely average 93. So I'm not sure how realistic that is unless I decide to start doing something. As long as I get almost perfect on my SAT I should be ok
.
So yeah, that's the story of my life. If you want to contact me, PMing me on here works just fine. I also have a Rubik's Cube related YouTube channel if you want to check it out, it's listed down below. I share it with my friend who started speedcubing about the same time as me, I'm the one with the brown hair and deeper voice. If you've made it to the bottom of here, congratulations. You deserve a cookie.
